Info Edge (India) Ltd, the company behind Naukri.com, has shared new details about its startup investment portfolio, highlighting strong growth in its Artificial Intelligence (AI) and deeptech investments. The company said its AI and deeptech portfolio is now worth more than ₹1,800 crore, while the overall value of its startup investments has reached around ₹41,300 crore.
The latest shareholder update shows how Info Edge’s early investments in emerging technologies are starting to pay off. At the same time, its consumer technology investments continue to be the biggest contributor to the company’s startup portfolio value.
AI Portfolio Shows Strong Growth and Investor Interest
Info Edge has invested ₹614 crore in 28 AI-focused startups. As of March 31, 2026, 26 of these startups are still active. The AI portfolio is currently valued at ₹1,268 crore, giving the company a return of 2.1 times its invested capital and an estimated gross internal rate of return (IRR) of about 31%.
The company’s AI investments cover areas such as enterprise AI, consumer AI, AI infrastructure and software-as-a-service (SaaS). Many of these startups have also attracted funding from major investors. Out of the 28 companies, 15 have raised follow-on funding from well-known institutional investors.
Some of the key startups in the portfolio include Aftershoot, which develops AI tools for photographers, along with Attentive AI, Lumiq, Pascal AI, Phot.ai, Kris@Work, Osfin and Fanclash/Spectatr.ai.
Government support has also helped some of these companies. Voice AI startup Gnani.ai was selected under the IndiaAI Mission and received GPU compute credits worth ₹177 crore to support its growth and technology development.
Deeptech Portfolio Focuses on Future Technologies
Info Edge has also invested heavily in deeptech startups, putting ₹455 crore into 30 companies. The portfolio is currently valued at ₹559 crore, generating a 1.2x multiple on invested capital and an estimated gross IRR of around 15%.
The company said many of these startups are still at an early stage, focusing on research, innovation and intellectual property creation. The investments cover sectors such as robotics, semiconductors, spacetech, biotechnology, defence technology, advanced manufacturing and electric mobility.
One of the biggest investments in the portfolio is Unbox Robotics, a company that develops warehouse automation solutions using swarm robotics. The startup recently raised a Series B funding round. Other notable companies include Bharat Semi, Botsync, Matter Motors, Avammune, Brainsight AI, String Bio, Aina and Ahammune.
Several deeptech startups backed by Info Edge have also received support from government programmes. ePlane secured ₹285 crore under the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) scheme, the largest allocation among approved projects. Manastu Space also received support worth ₹115 crore under the same programme, subject to raising matching capital from investors.
According to the company, 13 of the 30 deeptech startups have already raised external funding from institutional investors and government-backed programmes.
Consumer Technology Investments Remain the Biggest Success Story
While AI and deeptech are gaining attention, consumer technology remains the largest value creator in Info Edge’s portfolio. The company has invested ₹2,755 crore across 45 consumer technology startups. Out of these, 34 are active and 21 have raised follow-on funding from outside investors.
This portfolio is currently valued at ₹37,214 crore, making it the biggest contributor to Info Edge’s startup investment success. The segment has delivered a 13.5x multiple on invested capital and an estimated gross IRR of around 34%.
Much of this value comes from Eternal, which includes Zomato and Blinkit, and PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar and Paisabazaar. Info Edge’s combined holdings in these two listed companies are valued at around ₹31,500 crore.
The company has also invested in several other consumer-focused startups, including TrueMeds, Geniemode, InPrime, Bluestone, Ustra, Shopkirana, Adda247, Zingbus and ixigo.
Overall, Info Edge and its managed funds have invested nearly ₹4,900 crore across 135 startups. The entire portfolio is now valued at around ₹41,300 crore, reflecting the company’s long-term startup investment strategy.
Founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani said Info Edge started investing in AI and deeptech in 2020, before the current AI boom. The company continues to focus on supporting Indian founders building products for both local and global markets. While acknowledging that startup investing requires patience and can take seven to ten years to deliver major results, Info Edge remains confident about the future growth potential of India’s technology startup ecosystem.
