Info Edge (India) Ltd., the parent company of Naukri, 99acres, Jeevansathi, and Shiksha, has named Himanshu Agarwal as its new Whole-time Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The appointment comes as the company continues its leadership transition after the departure of former CFO Chintan Thakkar and reports strong financial growth for FY26.
Himanshu Agarwal will officially take charge on September 17, 2026, for a five-year term, subject to shareholder approval. With more than 30 years of experience in finance and leadership roles, he is expected to play an important role in the company’s future growth.
Himanshu Agarwal to Take Over as Info Edge CFO
Info Edge announced Himanshu Agarwal’s appointment on June 26, 2026. He is a Chartered Accountant, Company Secretary, and Cost and Management Accountant. Over the past three decades, he has worked in industries such as pharmaceuticals, media, packaging, chemicals, and coatings.
Before joining Info Edge, Agarwal was the Whole-time Director and CFO at Cohance Lifesciences. Earlier in his career, he held senior finance positions at Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd. (Times Group), Huhtamaki Oyj, AkzoNobel India, AstraZeneca Pharma, and ICI India. He has also received the ‘Best CFO’ award from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and currently serves as a Non-Executive Director at Sapala Organics Pvt. Ltd.
He replaces Chintan Thakkar, who stepped down after spending nearly 12 years with Info Edge. Thakkar resigned in August 2025 and completed his notice period before leaving the company in November. He joined the Indian Angel Network (IAN) Group as Group CEO and Senior Managing Partner at IAN Alpha Fund.
During his time at Info Edge, Thakkar helped the company achieve major financial milestones. He played an important role in increasing the company’s market value, raising funds, completing acquisitions, and making early investments in companies like Zomato (now Eternal) and Policybazaar. After his exit, Info Edge appointed co-promoter Ambarish Raghuvanshi as Interim CFO until Agarwal’s appointment.
Info Edge Reports Strong FY26 Financial Performance
The new CFO joins the company at a time when Info Edge has delivered another year of solid financial performance.
For FY26, the company reported standalone revenue of ₹3,052 crore, up 15% compared to the previous year. Billings increased by 10.3% to ₹3,178 crore, while operating profit grew nearly 17% to ₹1,138 crore. Cash generated from operations before taxes reached ₹1,469 crore.
In the fourth quarter of FY26, standalone revenue rose 17.2% to ₹805.1 crore. Operating profit increased by almost 40% to ₹322.7 crore, giving the company an operating margin of 40.1%. Standalone net profit also grew by 21.2% to ₹309.13 crore.
The company’s recruitment business, led by Naukri, remained its biggest source of revenue. Recruitment billings for the full year grew 10% to ₹2,374 crore. However, growth slowed slightly in the fourth quarter because hiring in the IT sector remained weak.
Info Edge also ended March 2026 with a strong cash balance of ₹4,963 crore. The board approved a final dividend of ₹3.60 per share, taking the total dividend for FY26 to ₹8.40 per share, which is 40% higher than the previous year.
The company’s investment portfolio also continued to grow. During FY26, Info Edge reported an exceptional gain of around ₹5,200 crore after the merger of Makesense Technologies into PB Fintech. At the same time, it recorded an unrealised loss of ₹5,874 crore on its Eternal investment during the fourth quarter because of a fall in the stock price. Even after this, the company ended FY26 with a net unrealised gain of ₹3,296 crore from its Eternal stake.
Info Edge’s startup investment portfolio has grown to around ₹41,300 crore across 135 startups. Between 2020 and March 2026, the company invested more than ₹1,000 crore in AI and deeptech startups and committed another ₹250 crore to its newly launched B8 Fund I.
Board Changes and Cohance Lifesciences Update
Along with appointing a new CFO, Info Edge has also made changes to its board committees. These changes became effective from June 27, 2026, ahead of Independent Director Ashish Gupta’s retirement in July.
Radha Rajappa has been added to the Audit Committee, while Rajesh Magow has joined the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Magow will also become the Chairman of the committee from July 21, 2026.
The company recently revealed that it had received a whistleblower complaint accusing some employees of fraud and policy violations in one of its business divisions. Info Edge has appointed an independent law firm and forensic experts to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, Agarwal’s former company, Cohance Lifesciences, is also going through leadership changes. The company accepted his resignation, effective September 13, 2026, and said there were no material concerns behind his decision to leave.
Cohance recently appointed former Cipla CEO Umang Vohra as its Chairman and Group CEO. The company has also introduced a new ESOP programme approved by shareholders. However, it has faced challenges after receiving a USFDA warning letter for its Hyderabad manufacturing facility. In addition, Cohance reported weak fourth-quarter results, with net profit falling nearly 67% and revenue declining by more than 26%.
With Himanshu Agarwal set to take over later this year, Info Edge enters a new phase with experienced leadership, a strong financial position, and a growing investment portfolio. His appointment is expected to support the company’s long-term growth plans while strengthening its core businesses and startup investments.
