E3 Electric.Ai Raises ₹100 Crore, Plans AI EV Scooter Launch

Bengaluru-based EV startup E3 Electric.Ai has raised ₹100 crore in a Series A funding round as it gets ready to enter India’s electric two-wheeler market. The funding was led by BluVenture Holdings, along with a group of angel investors. The company will use the fresh investment to improve its products, strengthen research and development, expand its AI technology, and prepare for the commercial launch of its upcoming E3 TRION electric scooter.

E3 Electric.Ai was founded in September 2024 by P. Sanjeev, who earlier worked in leadership roles at TVS Motor Company and Greaves Electric Mobility. Based in Bengaluru, the startup wants to build AI-powered electric vehicles that offer more than just basic transportation.

The company has a team of over 100 employees, including more than 25 research and development experts who have previously worked with companies such as Hero MotoCorp, Bajaj, TVS, Toyota, and other EV startups. E3 Electric.Ai has also filed several patents for its modular vehicle platform, battery technology, and AI-based safety systems. One of its granted patents is for an AI-powered trip assurance system for electric vehicles.

Fresh funding to support growth and product launch

The ₹100 crore Series A investment includes both equity and debt. Around ₹75 crore has been raised through equity, while the remaining ₹25 crore is through debt financing. The company said that more than 80% of the total funds have already been received.

According to E3 Electric.Ai, the new funding will help speed up product engineering, increase research and development, strengthen its AI and intellectual property portfolio, and support the launch of the E3 TRION.

The startup is following an asset-light business model. Instead of building its own large manufacturing plants, it plans to work with more than 50 contract suppliers to manufacture its vehicles while keeping full ownership of its designs and technology. This strategy allows the company to expand faster while keeping costs under control.

E3 Electric.Ai also claims it developed its first prototype in just 90 days and completed the pre-homologation design within seven months. At present, its vehicles are in the pre-homologation stage and are completing World Manufacturer Identifier registration while meeting Indian regulatory requirements.

E3 TRION to offer AI-powered features and smart technology

The company is preparing to launch two electric vehicles on the same platform. The first is the E3 TRION, an intelligent family scooter, while the second is a crossover delivery moped made for gig workers and logistics businesses. Both models will have a starting price of ₹99,999 and are aimed at customers who currently use 110cc petrol scooters.

Both vehicles are built on E3 Electric.Ai’s TRIAXISFRAME chassis and VOLTCORE powertrain. This modular design allows different models to share the same parts and also makes future battery or motor upgrades easier.

The E3 TRION will run on the company’s IntelliRideOS operating system, which combines hardware, software, and AI into one platform. At launch, the scooter will come with 10 AI-powered features designed to improve safety and the overall riding experience.

One of its main features is TRIPSENSE, an AI-based vision system that can detect potholes, warn riders about possible collisions, and provide traffic alerts. The scooter also includes an AI Health Scan that allows users to check the vehicle’s condition in just 10 seconds through their smartphone before starting a ride.

Another feature, called Mobile As A Cluster, turns any Android or iPhone into a digital dashboard with more than 70 connected features. The scooter can also use AI to suggest the best routes by checking traffic, weather, and charging station availability. It will also offer automatic service reminders based on vehicle health and an SOS emergency system that can alert emergency contacts if it detects an accident or a fall.

Company targets lower running costs and nationwide expansion

E3 Electric.Ai says its technology will help reduce the overall cost of owning an electric scooter. Its VOLTPORT Digital Twin system monitors more than 200 battery parameters in real time to improve battery safety during charging and daily use.

The portable battery packs can also work as power banks, allowing users to charge devices such as smartphones while travelling. According to the company, its electric scooters can reduce the total cost of ownership by nearly 50% over five years compared to petrol scooters. It estimates the running cost at around ₹0.15 per kilometre, while maintenance costs could be up to 75% lower because of predictive AI and its modular design.

The company plans to begin mass production during the current financial year. The E3 TRION will first be launched in Bengaluru and other southern cities before expanding to around 90 cities, including Delhi, within its first year. E3 Electric.Ai also plans to open more than 100 dealerships in the initial phase, while a waitlist is already live to measure customer interest before bookings officially begin.

Looking ahead, E3 Electric.Ai has set ambitious goals for the future. By 2030, the startup aims to achieve ₹8,000 crore in annual revenue, sell more than one million vehicles, become EBITDA profitable by FY2028, and build a network of over 1,000 showrooms across more than 600 towns in India.
