Info Edge (India) Ltd has made a strong start to the financial year 2026-27, reporting solid growth across most of its major businesses. According to the company’s provisional business update for the first quarter (Q1 FY27), standalone billings increased 14.4% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹737 crore, showing healthy demand across its recruitment, real estate and matrimony platforms.
The company is also investing heavily in artificial intelligence (AI), expanding its recruitment technology, and strengthening its education business through the full acquisition of Coding Ninjas. These steps are part of Info Edge’s long-term plan to build AI-powered digital platforms while continuing to grow its existing businesses.
Naukri Remains the Biggest Growth Driver
Naukri and the company’s other recruitment platforms continued to be the biggest contributors to overall business. The recruitment segment, which includes Naukri.com, Naukrigulf, Firstnaukri and Quadrangle, reported billings of ₹552.7 crore in Q1 FY27. This was a 17.5% increase compared to ₹470.3 crore in the same quarter last year and made up nearly 75% of Info Edge’s total billings.
The company’s real estate platform, 99acres, also performed well. Its billings rose 16.6% to ₹110.1 crore from ₹94.4 crore a year ago, helped by steady demand in the property market. The platform also recorded a 52% share of web traffic during April.
Jeevansathi, Info Edge’s matrimony platform, continued its steady growth. Billings increased 14.2% to ₹39.6 crore, and the business recently reached operating breakeven, meaning it has started covering its operating costs.
Shiksha, the company’s education platform, was the only business to report lower billings. Revenue from the segment fell 22.8% to ₹34.6 crore from ₹44.8 crore in the previous year. The company said this happened because Google users are increasingly getting answers directly through AI-powered search results, leading to fewer visits to education websites.
Following the strong quarterly update, Info Edge’s shares rose sharply during trading, as investors welcomed the company’s healthy growth across its core businesses.
AI Investments and Coding Ninjas Acquisition Support Future Growth
Artificial intelligence has become one of Info Edge’s biggest focus areas. After investing around ₹70 crore in AI during FY26, the company plans to increase that investment to nearly ₹150 crore in FY27.
One of its major AI products is AI-Rex, a recruitment platform that helps companies automatically find, screen and shortlist job candidates. The platform is already being used by more than 4,000 enterprise customers, and over 10% of them have taken paid subscriptions. Between February and June 2026, the number of hiring assignments handled by AI-Rex increased almost four times.
The company has also launched Talent Pulse, an AI-based platform that helps businesses understand salary trends, talent availability and workforce planning. It already has more than 600 paying enterprise customers.
Another AI product, PremiumX, focuses on hiring professionals earning more than ₹30 lakh a year and currently serves over 1,800 enterprise customers.
For job seekers, Info Edge has introduced AI-powered tools such as Neo, an AI career assistant, AI Resume Maker and AI Mock Interview Prep. Around 1.5 million users take AI mock interviews every month, while AI-generated resumes are used to create nearly 3 million profiles each month.
These AI services are supported by Naukri’s large database of over 118 million candidate profiles, with around 25,000 new profiles being added every day by nearly 13 million monthly active users.
Info Edge has also decided to acquire the remaining 45.36% stake in Coding Ninjas, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The deal is worth around ₹39.91 crore and will be completed through an upfront payment followed by annual payments over the next three years.
The company plans to combine Coding Ninjas’ skill development programmes with Naukri’s recruitment platform to help professionals improve their skills and find better job opportunities, especially in AI-related fields.
Startup Investments Continue to Deliver Strong Value
Along with its internet businesses, Info Edge has built one of India’s biggest startup investment portfolios. Over the years, the company has invested around ₹4,900 crore in 135 startups. Today, that portfolio is valued at nearly ₹41,300 crore, showing strong long-term returns.
The company has also increased its investment commitment to B8 Fund I by another ₹180 crore, taking its total commitment to ₹430 crore.
AI and deeptech remain important investment areas for Info Edge. Since 2020, the company has invested more than ₹1,000 crore in AI and deeptech startups, with its AI portfolio showing particularly strong growth in value.
The latest Naukri JobSpeak report also shows that India’s white-collar job market continues to improve. Hiring demand has grown in sectors such as hospitality, BPO, education, oil and gas, and real estate. Demand for AI and machine learning professionals has also increased much faster than traditional IT hiring.
During the year, Info Edge also saw changes in its senior management team and continued to deal with tax and regulatory matters. An independent investigation into a whistleblower complaint related to 99acres found that there was no material impact on the company’s financial statements.
With strong growth in billings, increasing investments in AI, a larger presence in online education, and a valuable startup investment portfolio, Info Edge appears well placed to continue its growth journey throughout FY27.
