Residential community management platform MyGate has raised Rs 225 crore in a new funding round led by Dharana Capital. The investment comes after more than three years since the company last raised a major funding round and reflects growing investor confidence in its business and growth plans.
The fresh capital will help MyGate strengthen its presence across India, improve its technology offerings, and explore new opportunities in international markets. The company has also achieved strong revenue growth in recent years, making it an attractive investment for growth-stage investors.
Dharana Capital Picks Up Stake in MyGate
The Rs 225 crore funding round included both fresh investment and secondary share sales. Out of the total amount, Rs 100 crore was invested directly into MyGate, while Rs 125 crore came through the sale of existing shares.
As part of the deal, Dharana Capital acquired around 12% to 14% ownership in the company. The transaction values MyGate between Rs 2,000 crore and Rs 2,300 crore.
The secondary share sale allowed some early investors and senior employees to sell part of their holdings and receive liquidity. Investors such as Prime Venture Partners were among those who benefited from the transaction. Such exits are still uncommon in India’s startup ecosystem and highlight MyGate’s strong business performance.
Dharana Capital, founded by Vamsi Duvvuri, is an India-focused investment firm that backs fast-growing technology and consumer businesses. The firm recently raised a $250 million fund and manages around $450 million in assets.
With this latest investment, MyGate has now raised about $84 million in total funding. Over the years, the company has also received backing from well-known investors such as Tiger Global and Tencent.
Company Plans Faster Growth and Product Expansion
MyGate plans to use the newly raised funds to expand its reach across India and improve its technology platform.
The company currently serves around 5.7 million households across more than 27,000 residential societies. It now aims to grow that number to 10 million homes in the coming years.
A part of the investment will also be used to strengthen its enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform and introduce new features for residential communities. Over time, MyGate has expanded beyond visitor management and now offers several services related to security, facility management, billing and community engagement.
The company is also looking beyond India for future growth. It plans to launch pilot projects in the Middle East to test demand for its products and services. If successful, this could become an important growth market for the startup.
Strong Revenue Growth Supports Funding Push
The funding comes at a time when MyGate is showing strong financial improvement.
The company’s revenue has grown nearly three times over the last three years. In FY25, operating revenue jumped 80% to Rs 173.5 crore, compared to Rs 96.2 crore in FY24. Industry estimates suggest that revenue could reach around Rs 270 crore by the end of FY26.
MyGate has also reduced its losses significantly. Its net loss fell 61% to Rs 15.4 crore in FY25. According to the company, it would have reported a profit during the year if it had not accounted for Rs 22.5 crore in ESOP and stock-based compensation expenses.
One of the biggest reasons behind the company’s growth is its advertising business. While many software companies depend mainly on subscription income, MyGate earns a large share of its revenue from helping brands reach residents living in gated communities.
At present, nearly 70% of the company’s revenue comes from advertising and brand partnerships. Around 25% comes from subscription fees paid by Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), while the remaining 5% is generated through its smart devices and digital locks business.
With fresh funding, rising revenues and improving profitability, MyGate is now preparing for its next phase of growth. The company is focused on expanding its customer base, improving its products and building a stronger presence both in India and overseas.
