Nobel Hygiene, one of India’s leading disposable hygiene products companies, has taken a major step towards its stock market debut. The company has officially converted itself from a private company into a public company as it prepares for a planned Initial Public Offering (IPO) worth around Rs 2,500 crore.

The company recently approved a resolution to change its name from Nobel Hygiene Private Limited to Nobel Hygiene Limited. This move is usually seen as an important step for companies planning to list on the stock exchanges.

According to reports, the proposed IPO is expected to include both a fresh issue of shares and an Offer for Sale (OFS) by existing investors. While discussions with investment bankers are currently underway, the final timeline for the IPO will depend on market conditions and regulatory approvals.

Founded by Kamal Kumar Johari, Nobel Hygiene has built a strong presence in India’s hygiene products market through brands such as Friends, Teddyy, Snuggy and Rio. The company is known for manufacturing adult diapers, baby diapers and sanitary pads.

Investor Confidence Remains Strong

Nobel Hygiene’s public company conversion comes at a time when investors continue to show confidence in its growth story.

In May 2025, the company raised Rs 170 crore from Neo Asset Management through a combination of primary and secondary investments. The investment marked another important milestone in Nobel Hygiene’s growth journey.

The company has also received backing from several well-known investors over the years. In 2021, healthcare-focused private equity firm Quadria Capital invested between Rs 450 crore and Rs 500 crore in the company. Venture capital firm Sixth Sense Ventures has also been among its investors.

Despite receiving external funding, the promoter family continues to hold a large stake in the business. This reflects their long-term commitment to the company and confidence in its future growth plans.

Industry sources suggest that the money raised through the IPO will mainly be used to expand manufacturing facilities, strengthen distribution networks and increase marketing efforts. The company also plans to invest in consumer awareness campaigns, especially in the adult diaper segment where social stigma still remains a challenge.

Financial Performance Shows Improvement

Nobel Hygiene has reported steady growth in recent years as demand for hygiene products continues to increase across India.

The company’s consolidated revenue grew from Rs 688.59 crore in FY23 to Rs 728.54 crore in FY24. In FY25, revenue is estimated to have reached around Rs 773 crore.

The company is now aiming to cross the Rs 1,000 crore revenue mark by FY26, supported by higher demand and expansion across product categories.

One of the biggest positives for Nobel Hygiene has been its return to profitability. After reporting a loss in FY24, the company improved its operating performance and reported a profit after tax of Rs 3.35 crore in FY25.

Its improving financial position has also been recognised by credit rating agencies, which have either upgraded or improved their outlook on the company. This reflects growing confidence in its business model and future growth prospects.

Government incentives have also supported the company’s expansion plans. Nobel Hygiene has received benefits under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, helping it strengthen manufacturing operations and improve competitiveness.

Adult Diaper Business Continues to Lead Growth

Nobel Hygiene is best known for its Friends brand, which is one of the leading adult diaper brands in India. The company is considered a pioneer in the adult diaper category and continues to hold a strong position in the market.

To meet changing consumer needs, Nobel Hygiene has launched new products and is investing in awareness campaigns to encourage more people to adopt adult hygiene products.

The company has also built a presence in the baby care segment through its Teddyy and Snuggy brands. In addition, it operates in the women’s hygiene category through its Rio sanitary pad brand.

To support future growth, Nobel Hygiene has invested heavily in manufacturing. Its Nashik facility remains a key production centre, while its modern plant in Halol, Gujarat, has been developed to support both domestic demand and exports.

Although most of its revenue currently comes from India, the company also exports its products to several international markets. As demand for hygiene products continues to grow globally, Nobel Hygiene is looking to strengthen its presence both in India and overseas.

With improving financial performance, strong investor support and expansion plans in place, Nobel Hygiene appears to be moving steadily towards its much-awaited IPO and the next phase of its growth journey.
