Jaipur-based Celebal Technologies has raised Rs 50 crore in debt funding from BlackSoil Capital. The fresh funding will help the company strengthen its finances and support its expansion plans in artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technology services.

The latest investment comes as businesses across the world are increasing their spending on AI-powered solutions and digital transformation. Celebal plans to use the funds as a financial cushion against market uncertainties while continuing to invest in growth opportunities.

New Funding to Support Expansion Without Diluting Ownership

Founded in 2016 by Anupam Gupta and Anirudh Kala, Celebal Technologies has grown into a major technology company that helps enterprises modernise their operations through AI, cloud computing, data analytics, and automation.

The Rs 50 crore funding from BlackSoil follows an earlier debt facility received by the company in 2024. Company executives said the new capital will provide greater financial flexibility and help the business take advantage of new opportunities without giving away additional equity.

Chief Financial Officer Hemant Mathur said debt funding allows the company to expand while maintaining ownership control. This strategy has become popular among fast-growing startups that want to raise capital without diluting the stake of founders and existing investors.

Celebal has already attracted strong investor interest over the years. In 2022, the company raised $32 million in a Series A funding round led by Norwest Venture Partners. It later received strategic investment from Databricks Ventures in 2023. In May 2025, the company secured Rs 125 crore in a Series B funding round led by InCred Growth Partners Fund-I, with participation from Norwest.

After the Series B round, Celebal’s valuation rose to nearly Rs 1,800 crore, highlighting investor confidence in the company’s future growth and AI-focused business model.

Strong Revenue Growth Alongside Higher Investments

Celebal Technologies has reported rapid growth in recent years. During FY24, the company’s operating revenue increased by 43% to Rs 275 crore from Rs 192 crore in the previous year. Total revenue stood at Rs 281 crore, with a large share coming from international markets.

The company has also expanded its presence globally through operations in countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, and Estonia. Along with business growth, its workforce has increased significantly. As of May 2026, Celebal had around 3,450 employees worldwide, compared to 1,962 employees in August 2025.

However, rapid expansion has also led to rising costs. Employee salaries and benefits remained the company’s biggest expense as it continued hiring talent and investing in technology development. Total expenses increased sharply during FY24 as Celebal focused on scaling its business across markets.

Due to these higher costs, the company reported wider losses during the financial year. Even so, management remains focused on long-term growth, supported by increasing demand for AI and cloud-based services from enterprise customers.

The company also continues to maintain relationships with several banks and financial institutions, giving it access to additional funding for future expansion.

AI Solutions and Industry Recognition Strengthen Market Position

Celebal Technologies has built its reputation around enterprise AI and cloud innovation. Its flagship platform, Agent Garage, helps businesses create AI-powered agents that can automate tasks, improve workflows, and support decision-making.

The platform is designed for industries such as logistics, retail, manufacturing, energy, and supply chain management. By combining AI with cloud technology, Celebal aims to help organisations improve efficiency and reduce operational challenges.

Chief Executive Officer Anirudh Kala believes the next phase of AI growth will come from specialised AI agents built for specific industries rather than general-purpose AI models. He said businesses are increasingly looking for AI solutions that are reliable, transparent, and capable of delivering measurable results.

The company’s work has earned recognition from leading global technology firms. Celebal was named Microsoft Global AI Partner of the Year in 2023 and has received awards and recognition from organisations such as Databricks, Confluent, and Amazon Web Services.

Celebal competes with several well-known technology and analytics companies, including UST, Fractal Analytics, Happiest Minds, EXL, Datamatics, Sutherland, Thoughtworks, EPAM, Valtech, and Tredence. Despite strong competition, the company has continued to strengthen its position through its expertise in AI, cloud transformation, and enterprise technology services.

With fresh funding from BlackSoil, growing revenue, and rising demand for AI solutions, Celebal Technologies is looking to accelerate its growth journey and expand its presence in both Indian and global markets.
