Info Edge, the parent company of Naukri.com, has announced three major business decisions that highlight its focus on artificial intelligence (AI), online education, and startup investments. The company will acquire the remaining stake in Coding Ninjas, increase its AI spending for FY27, and invest more money in its venture capital fund.

These moves show that Info Edge wants to strengthen its business across hiring, skill development, and technology while preparing for future growth.

Info Edge to Become the Sole Owner of Coding Ninjas

Info Edge’s Board has approved the purchase of the remaining 45.36% stake in Sunrise Mentors Private Limited, the company that owns Coding Ninjas. After the deal is completed, Coding Ninjas will become a 100% owned subsidiary of Info Edge.

The company will buy 74,741 equity shares from the founders for around ₹39.91 crore. The agreed share price is ₹5,340.23.

The payment will be made in four parts. Around ₹9.98 crore, or 25% of the total amount, will be paid once the Share Purchase Agreement is completed. This is expected to happen within the next 45 days. The remaining ₹29.93 crore will be paid in three equal yearly instalments on March 31, 2027, March 31, 2028, and March 31, 2029.

Although the founders—Ankush Singla, Kannu Mittal, and Dhawal Parate—are selling their shares, they will continue working with Info Edge. They will remain employees of the company and receive salaries along with performance-based incentives.

Info Edge had first invested ₹135.4 crore in Coding Ninjas in October 2022 to buy a 51% stake. Since the founders are directors of an existing subsidiary, this latest transaction is treated as a related-party deal. The company said the final price was decided after commercial discussions, keeping in mind its existing majority ownership and the difficult market conditions in the edtech sector.

Coding Ninjas has improved its revenue over the past three years. Its operating revenue increased from ₹53.31 crore in FY24 to ₹67.15 crore in FY25 and reached ₹97.43 crore in FY26. However, the company is still making losses. It reported a net loss of ₹13.36 crore in FY26 and had a negative net worth of ₹34.98 crore as of March 31, 2026.

Info Edge also plans to connect Coding Ninjas more closely with Naukri.com by launching short AI-focused courses that will help job seekers improve their skills.

Info Edge More Than Doubles AI Investment

Along with the Coding Ninjas deal, Info Edge has announced a major increase in its AI spending. The company plans to invest around ₹150 crore in AI during FY27, compared to nearly ₹70 crore in FY26.

The company is working to transform itself from a job listing platform into an AI-powered hiring and talent intelligence company.

For recruiters, Info Edge has launched AI-based products such as AI-Rex, Talent Pulse, and PremiumX. AI-Rex helps companies automate repetitive hiring work and manage large recruitment drives. It is already being used by more than 4,000 companies and has handled around 30,000 hiring requests. The product is currently available free of cost to encourage more businesses to use it.

Talent Pulse, another AI-powered hiring solution, generated around ₹30–35 crore in revenue during FY25 and now has more than 600 paying clients.

For job seekers, Naukri has introduced AI Resume Maker, called Neo, and an AI Mock Interview Prep tool. These products have become popular among users. Around 1.5 million people use the mock interview feature every month, while AI-generated resumes help create nearly 3 million profiles every month. These self-service products also helped increase Naukri’s B2C revenue by 33% year-on-year during the fourth quarter of FY26.

To support its AI plans, Info Edge now has more than 130 AI scientists and machine learning engineers. Its database includes over 118 million candidate profiles, adds nearly 25,000 new profiles every day, and attracts around 13 million monthly active users.

The company has also invested ₹1,003 crore in 54 AI and deeptech startups. Today, this investment portfolio is valued at ₹1,268 crore, delivering an internal rate of return of 31%.

Info Edge Raises Commitment to B8 Fund I

Info Edge has also decided to increase its investment in B8 Fund I by another ₹180 crore. Earlier this year, the company had committed ₹250 crore to the fund. With the latest approval, its total commitment can go up to ₹430 crore.

B8 Fund I is a Category II Alternative Investment Fund registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The fund is sponsored and managed by Smartweb Internet Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Info Edge.

The fund will invest in growth-stage technology companies based in or operating from India. Its goal is to generate long-term returns by supporting promising businesses. The fund has an investment period of eight years starting from March 12, 2026, with an option to extend it by up to two years if investors agree.

The money will be invested gradually as suitable opportunities become available. As of March 31, 2026, B8 Fund I had a net worth of ₹122.81 crore and reported a small loss of ₹2.18 crore.

With full ownership of Coding Ninjas, higher investment in AI, and a larger startup fund, Info Edge is strengthening its position in India’s recruitment, education, and technology sectors while preparing for future growth.
